Widow of A Soldier Looking For Help
Last year, we had given financial help of Rs.5000 to Mrs. Roshni Pandey w/o late Ex. Spr. Digrish Kumar Pandey for mushroom cultivation. Mushroom seeds give up to three crops, then new seeds have to be planted.
Roshni Pandey’s health deteriorated after some time due to which she had to be admitted to the government hospital and she could not continue her mushroom cultivation. That’s why that crop ended only after giving two crops.
In view of the increasing age and keeping the weakness in mind, on being told by the doctor that she should not do much physical labor, she wants to open a shop of Pooja related items for her livelihood and lead a decent life.
She needs financial support of Rs.60,000 to open a shop. We have already arranged Rs.14,700 and would like to seek help from everyone to arrange the funds for her.
You can use following link to contribute : https://supportourheroes.in/project-s…

People From Zanskar Valley(Ladakh) Require Support Our Heroes NGO Help
While working in the Zanskar Valley(Ladakh) for arranging sewing machines and setting up grocery stores for the veterans and their families, we interacted with their families and locals about problems of the area and see if we can help.
From all the conversations, we picked up that female hygiene and problems related to it are the major concerns. Sanitary pads in the region are considered a ‘Luxury’. A lot of women in the region still use ragged clothes. They are around 155 in number and are all house wives earning their livelihood under MNREGA occasionally.
In Zanskar valley, areas are far-flung and sparsely populated. There is only one shop which sells sanitary pads. During winters which lasts for around 6 months here, there is no supply of pads and all shops remain closed.
We believe that something as basic as sanitary pads should be available to all of them; it is not a “Luxury” but their ‘Right’. Therefore, we have decided to distribute free sanitary pads to them which can last a couple of months.

A Civilian Who Is FAUJI At Heart
Our team had a meeting with Jitendra Singh, a man who is a security guard by profession. His financial constraints and ill luck forced him to abandon his dreams of becoming a soldier.
What’s So Special About Him?
Jitendra has been writing letters to the families of the martyrs for the last 18 years and has assembled a stationary weighing 9 quintals. He says, he can’t help them financially but tries to give them comfort with his words.
Jitendra Singh’s father was in the Mahar regiment. Jitendra has named his son after Hardeep Singh, a martyr from Karnal in Haryana who sacrificed his life in 2003 fighting the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Jitendra wants his son Hardeep Singh, to join the Indian Army.
Our team has decided to sponsor education of Jitendra Singh’s son so that it can take off some of the financial burden from his shoulders.
